Learning objectives for attending scheduled presentations and participating in group process. Participation prepares professionals to be able to:
Identify the traumatic impact of one or two unpredictable events in their life, as well as identify how those events impacted their narcissistic issues.
Use three exercises to tune in to their body and in particular to their autonomic nervous system (Dana, 2021) in times of uncertainty.
Select two strategies to help themselves and their patients find their own ground and self-regulate when coping with states of imbalance resulting from unpredictable events in their lives.
Distinguish between fragility as an enduring part of the human condition and weakness, which can represent deficiencies or limitations in attributes that might be stronger.
Develop ideas about the sources of fragility in themselves and their patients especially as it relates to the practice of psychotherapy.
Identify and relate to transference and countertransference dynamics that arise from feelings and states of fragility and influence the psychotherapy process.
